Day 1: Arrival and Exploration of the Tanbi Wetlands
Upon arrival at Banjul Airport, we’ll head to the charming Mandinari River Lodge, nestled in a serene natural oasis. Explore the stunning surroundings of the Tanbi Wetlands and the lodge’s lush garden. This is the perfect start to your bird photography adventure, with numerous vibrant birds to spot and capture.

Day 2: Mangroves, Rice Fields, and Birds of Prey
Start the day with an outing through the mangroves, rice fields, and wetlands of Mandinari. In the afternoon, we’ll visit hotspots rich in birds of prey, offering unique opportunities to photograph these majestic creatures in their natural habitat.

Day 3: Nature Photography in Rice Fields and Wetlands
In the morning, we’ll photograph birds of prey at a dedicated hotspot. The afternoon will feature an excursion to the rice fields and wetlands, enriching your nature photography with distinctive bird and wildlife imagery.

Day 4: Journey to Tendaba Camp and Visit to Farasutu Forest
After breakfast, we’ll travel 140 km inland to Tendaba Camp, stopping at several birding hotspots along the way, including the Farasutu Forest. Upon arrival, we’ll visit a bird hide to observe and photograph local species.

Day 5: Boat Trip through Mangroves and Kwinella Bush Track
The morning begins with a breathtaking boat trip through the mangroves along the Gambia River. In the afternoon, we’ll explore the Kwinella bush track, enjoying the local flora and fauna.

Day 6: Arrival at Bansang Riverside Lodge
After a short journey, we’ll arrive at the picturesque Bansang Riverside Lodge, located on the banks of the Gambia River. In the afternoon, we’ll take an excursion into the surrounding natural environment, perfect for bird photography.

Day 7: Crossing to Senegal - Campement de Wassadou
Today, we’ll cross the border into Senegal and continue to Campement de Wassadou. Along the way, we’ll make several stops to photograph the incredible birdlife of the region.

Day 8: Exploration of Niokolo Koba National Park
An unforgettable journey through Niokolo Koba National Park awaits. This UNESCO World Heritage Site offers the chance to photograph an impressive variety of bird and wildlife species in their natural surroundings.

Day 9: Exploration of Camp Wassadou and Boat Trip
We’ll explore the surroundings of Camp Wassadou with an engaging outing. In the afternoon, we’ll enjoy a scenic boat trip, focused on photographing hippos and the stunning riverscape.

Day 10: Journey to Kakuba Garden Hotel
We travel to the Kakuba Garden Hotel in The Gambia, with stops along the way at wetlands and rice fields. After lunch, we’ll explore the surroundings of the lodge on an engaging excursion.

Day 11: Return to Tendaba Camp and Bird Hide
After breakfast, we’ll return to Tendaba Camp for an overnight stay. In the afternoon, we’ll visit one of the bird hides, providing an opportunity to photograph various bird species in their natural habitat.

Day 12: Exploration of Bintang Bolong
Today, we’ll move to Bintang Bolong, situated by a river and surrounded by stunning mangrove forests. This is an ideal location for photographing a wide range of bird species.

Day 13: Walk Around Bintang Bolong Lodge
In the morning, we’ll take a walk around the lodge, offering breathtaking views of open areas and forested wetlands. Here, you can capture images of bird species typical of this unique ecosystem.

Day 14: Journey to Marakissa and Visit to Killy Bird Hide
Today, we’ll travel to Marakissa, where one of the highlights will be a visit to the bird hide at Killy to photograph various bird species. After lunch, we’ll enjoy an outing in the surrounding areas of the camp.

Day 15: Wetlands of Marakissa and Lodge Garden
In the morning, we’ll explore the wetlands of Marakissa, discovering its unique flora and fauna. In the afternoon, we’ll return to the camp, famous for its breathtaking garden, which is perfect for bird photography.

Day 16: Journey to Kartong and Wetland Exploration
After breakfast, we’ll travel to Kartong, located near the border with Senegal. We’ll stay overnight at Stala Lodge and, in the evening, take a trip to the nearby wetlands for birdwatching and photography.

Day 17: Visit to Kartong Bird Watching Observatory
Today, we’ll visit the Kartong Bird Watching Observatory, an excellent location for bird photography. In the afternoon, we’ll enjoy a boat trip on the Halahin River, providing ample opportunities to photograph birds and other wildlife.

Day 18: Return to Mandinari River Lodge
On the final day of our journey, we’ll return to Mandinari River Lodge, where our adventure began. Depending on flight times, we may take a final excursion to the stunning rice fields of Lamin, a perfect way to conclude this unforgettable bird photography experience.
